Our Story
Saakya was born from a dream—a dream of a young man from Sikkim, with roots in
Darjeeling and Kalimpong, who wanted to share the authentic flavors and healing
traditions of the Himalayas with the world. Inspired by the serenity of the
mountains and the wisdom of Buddha, he set out to create a brand that not only
offers products but a path to inner peace and well-being.
The name Saakya is derived from the Shakya tribe, the community of Gautam
Buddha, whose teachings are the foundation of our values. Every product we
offer is carefully selected to reflect the essence of the Himalayas—purity,
mindfulness, and balance.

farmers, artisans, and communities of the Himalayan region, ensuring that each

Our Products
Every Saakya product is a direct expression of our Himalayan heritage — handcrafted in small batches by the farmers, artisans and communities who have called these mountains home for generations.
Our Darjeeling tea collection is crafted by Sanjay Bajla — Kalimpong’s certified tea sommelier — using premium hand-plucked Darjeeling leaves blended with natural botanicals. Our Himalayan coffee is grown at high altitude by Umesh Gurung — a pioneering first-generation coffee farmer from Kalimpong. Our natural incense sticks are handcrafted by artisan families using 100% natural Himalayan ingredients with no charcoal and no synthetic fragrances. Our Himalayan condiments and fruit concentrates are crafted by Pravesh Gurung and his team of local women farmers from Darjeeling. Our Himalayan skincare is crafted from pure natural mountain botanicals — nourishing formulas inspired by centuries of Himalayan wellness tradition.
